FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

Thank you to the many parents who were able to join us during week 6 for the several events that were planned at St Patrick’s Lochinvar. We celebrated Catholic Schools Week on Monday with a beautiful liturgy led by our Year 3 team followed by open classrooms and a shared lunch.

Our Infants Athletics Carnival for Kindergarten and Year 1 held on Thursday was a great success. Thank you to the teachers for the preparation that went into this event and to the children for the spirit in which you took part in the activities.

Due to several factors, the Pupil Free Day planned for this Friday 10th June at St Patrick’s Lochinvar has been postponed. Students should come to school as normal on this day. We recognise the many disruptions that have occurred throughout the term that have impacted on students, teachers and parents and have made this decision in the best interests of all concerned. Three of the major impacts are around the following items:

  • Staff shortages due to sickness- not being able to capture all staff with the Professional Learning
  • Ongoing disruptions to parents in regard to OOSH closures. These closures are already impacting our families and their work and we do not want to add to this with a Pupil Free Day on Friday
  • Ensuring consistency of learning for our students, many of whom have been affected by sickness this term

Please note the upcoming Professional Learning (Pupil Free Days) that are planned for Term 3.

FRIDAY 22/7/22- Writing Professional Learning Day (Pupil free)

MONDAY 15/8/22- Religious Education Professional Learning Day (Pupil free)

We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
