PARISH FAMILY MASS

On Sunday 3rd November, the 9:30am Mass at St Patrick’s Parish Church, Lochinvar will be our Term 4 Parish/School family Mass. This Mass is a fabulous way for us to build strong connections with our Parish community. A note will be sent home this week for families to indicate their availability to attend. It would be fabulous to be able to celebrate with as many of our families as possible.

SACRAMENTS OF INITIATON INFORMATION

MJR FOCUS Week 1: TEAMWORK

There is no I in TEAM! Together Everyone Achieves More! It is always important we remember to think of and include others. We can include others in our games and when we are doing work in class. When we include others and work as a team you can achieve so much more and the bonus is, you make others feel good by doing so!

MAKING JESUS REAL

MJR FOCUS Week 2: Negative Attitudes/What's in it for Me?

It can sometimes be a bit tricky to do things that we do not want or that we may not get recognised for. We may feel hard done by or think it is unfair. BUT! What really is the truth, is that when we do these things we are helping someone else which is what counts and what makes us feel good! If you let negative emotions impact your choices, you will feel down and others around you will feel the same. We should all remember to do the right things and in the words of Mary MacKillop, when we see a need do something about it! Do not worry about getting something back because positive vibes will come your way maybe when you least expect it

SOCCER GALA DAY

On Thursday 12th September, St Patrick’s competed in the All Saints Regional Soccer Gala day at Speers Point Football Facility. We sent 2 senior teams and 1 junior team with 37 boys and girls from Years 4, 5 and 6 attending. Each team played 7 games on the day against other Catholic Schools in our region, participating with wonderful teamwork and sportsmanship. The Year 5 team played well on the day coming away with some good results, just missing out of the final. Our Year 4 and Year 6 team both progressed to the final in their divisions with Year 4 coming away with runners up and Year 6 taking out the win.

We would like to thank the Lochinvar Rovers Football Club for their support with this gala day. Committee Members Lisa Duhig, Brendan Hughes and Aden Maher assisted us with the selection, training and coaching on the day. Their help and expertise was greatly appreciated.

Mrs Saxby.

COMMUNITY NEWS

MISSION DAY

Last term, St Patrick’s held the annual Mission Day where we all come together for fun-filled day to raise money for Catholic Mission. Year Six students were responsible for running a variety of stalls from ice-cream spiders, to face painting, to sponge throwing. A big CONGRATULATIONS to all year six students for taking on this job and fulfilling their roles brilliantly! Thank you to everyone who participated and donated to our cause. Together, we raised over $3200! This money will assist the Catholic Church in Ghana in supporting children with disabilities and providing better access to food, water, healthcare and education.
